Sameer Restaurant Al-Arabi (Ipoh,Perak)

Went to this restaurant today (Thursday 22nd of December 2011)
Coz of my father, he wasn't satisfied with the Briyani rice we had yesterday night at Pakeeza so we went here, the only (i think) Arabic Rice restaurant that is situated in Ipoh, Perak.

Sameer which is situated right beside Tesco Stesyen 18, has a roasted lamb for it's restaurant banner.. TEMPTING.. :P

The menu is full of varieties, and you can even choose whether you want a plain white rice or a briyani rice, but all of them are originally the long-type of rice.. :DWhile we were waiting for our order to arrive, the waiter served us with a bowl of hot chicken soup each. Its free. I guess it is just like KFC which serves us a cup of beverages if our order ain't ready yet.. Nice!! :D
My parents and i ordered one set of Briyani with chicken and another set of Briyani with mutton.
The taste is nice, but it is not the best Arabic rice that i have tasted yet. :P

The rice is okay.. but the side dishes are quite weird as they serve a small dish of coleslaw and cetni.. haha.. :P but i finished it all (that means nice! :D)
But the amount of protein (mutton and chicken) is in a small portion, compared to the other Arabic restaurant i went to before.
And the mutton and the chicken is quite dry.
Its not oily enough, but too much oil is not good right? :P
Then my father ordered a third dish, which is chapati and dhal.
We got 2 pieces of chapati and the dhal is very delicious.. It has the Arabic taste and the beans in the dhal is not mashed, giving it a satisfying, full taste of dhal..

The dhal is shown above.. :D

The workers of the restaurant are nice and fast working. They are also clean and friendly.
They are from other country and when you speak to them, speak in English.
They barely understands Malay.

The drink, as usual, my mom is crazy about the teh tarik, and this time, i gotta agree with her..
It is very thick, like how Malaysians say it: 'Kaw' :P
But i gotta say, the price is quite expensive compared to even Arabic restaurant is Cyberjaya..
A medium sized briyani costs RM15, while in Cyberjaya, its only RM10.. logical?
You decide..

The restaurant offers Mandy Briyani Rice, Kabsa Lamb, Kabsa Chicken with Rice, A Special Whole Lamb and other Arabic food.. And their specialty is Shisha..

They even have packages which can fit for 8 pax, depending on what dish you want to eat as in a group. There are packages of RM250, RM300, RM350, and even RM400 with choices of delicious delicacies.. :D

Recommended for Arabic food fans and even families who would love to eat something different from the typical Siamese tomyam and stuff.. Try something different people!! :P
